Dalian Jiaotong University was founded in 1956. Its predecessor was Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock School and Dalian Railway Institute, which was affiliated to the Ministry of Railways. In February 2000, it was placed under the management of Liaoning provincial government, and a management system based on local management was implemented. In May 2004, it was renamed Dalian Jiaotong University with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is the only institution of higher learning in Northeast China that features rail transit.
The school is mainly divided into two campuses, Shahekou Campus and Lushun Campus. The campus covers an area of 852,000 square meters, the school buildings cover an area of 394,000 square meters, and the total value of teaching instruments and equipment reaches 6,543.8+0.2854 million yuan. In recent years, a modern library with complete functions has been built, with a building area of 1.8706 square meters, with1.0400 paper books and 203,000 electronic books. A new experimental hall of 23,000 square meters and a modern rail transit research institute of 4,500 square meters have been built. Complete the construction project of 865,438+0,000m2 teaching building, student apartment and IT science park in the first phase of Software College of Lushun Campus, and rebuild the graduate building and teaching building of Ai En International College in Zhongchang Street.
