Changzhou Institute of Technology (CIT), located in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, is a full-time undergraduate college in charge of Jiangsu Province, and was selected as the first batch of universities in the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" for the integration of production and education.

The school started from Changzhou 721 University of Technology founded by 1978, and 1979 was renamed Changzhou Staff University. 1982, approved by the Ministry of Education, Changzhou Vocational College was renamed Changzhou Institute of Technology; On March 22, 2000, the Ministry of Education approved the merger of Changzhou Institute of Technology and Changzhou Machinery Metallurgy Workers College to form Changzhou Institute of Technology.
As of June 2022, the school has Liaohe Road Campus, Wushan Road Campus, Huiguanbang Road Continuing Education College and Changjiang Road Science and Technology Industrial Park, with a total area of nearly 1.300 mu. There are 18 teaching units and 59 undergraduate majors (49 majors are enrolled).
