Qinghai Normal University was founded in 1956. The school has formed a complete education system of undergraduate education, postgraduate education, international education, adult education and vocational education, with disciplines and specialties covering philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management, art and so on 10.
The school has two secondary colleges, Adult Education College (Vocational College) and Teachers College for Nationalities, and there are 18 secondary colleges. There are 24 research institutions (think tanks) and 3 affiliated middle schools, including Plateau Science and Sustainable Development Research Institute, Qinghai Silk Road Economic Belt Research Institute, Salt Lake College, Panchen Institute, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Culture Research Institute, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Resources and Environment Research Institute and Tibet Information Research Center.
