Lanzhou University of Arts and Science, located in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, is an ordinary undergraduate college in Gansu Province, the first batch of pilot colleges for transformation and development in Gansu Province, and the training base for non-genetic population of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Selected as an innovative experimental project of integration of production and education in colleges and universities, and the data is China Hundred Schools Project.

The school's predecessor was Gansu Education College founded by 1950 and Gansu Union University founded by 1985. In July, 20001year, the two universities merged to form a new Gansu Union University, and in April, 20001year, Gansu Art School merged to form Lanzhou University of Arts and Sciences on the basis of Gansu Union University.
