Chongqing University of Arts and Science, located in Chongqing, is a full-time undergraduate college sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the first batch of pilot universities in China to reform the education and training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents.

Its predecessors, Chongqing Normal University and Yuzhou Institute of Education, were founded in 1976 and 1972 respectively. In May of 20001year, the two universities merged to form Chongqing Yuxi College; In April 2005, the school was renamed Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences.
