Yunnan Normal University, referred to as "Yunnan Normal University", is located in Kunming, Yunnan Province. Co-founded by the Ministry of Education and the Yunnan Provincial People's Government, it was selected as one of the three local normal universities in the national pilot reform of free normal students.
The first batch of universities built by the Ministry of Education's demonstration base for studying in China, the universities that implement the excellent teacher training program, the second batch of national demonstration universities that deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and the institutions that receive scholarships from the China government for overseas students in China have been identified by the Ministry of Education and Hanban as one of the 10 key universities that support Chinese teaching in neighboring countries and have the right to recruit students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
Yunnan Normal University, formerly known as the Teachers College of National Southwest Associated University, was born in 1938. 1946, Peking University, Tsinghua University and Nankai University, which formed the National The National SouthWest Associated University, were demobilized and returned to the north. Their normal colleges were established independently in Kunming, and were named as National Kunming Normal College. 1950 was renamed Kunming Normal University, and 1984 was renamed Yunnan Normal University.

In September 2022, the school official website showed that the school won 88 national and provincial teaching achievement awards, including the first prize of the national teaching achievement award 1 item and the outstanding achievement award of Yunnan philosophy and social sciences 109 item (6 first prizes); 1989 won two excellent prizes, 193 won the second prize, 1 97 won the second prize, and 200/kloc-0 won the second prize.
