Beijing Normal University, founded in 1902, is located in Beijing. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Beijing, and ranks among the "double first-class", "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project".

This university is one of the first ten key universities in the Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Eighth Five-Year Plan. The history of Beijing Normal University can be traced back to the Teachers College of Shi Jing University, which was founded in 1902. 1908 was renamed Shi Jing Excellent Normal School, 19 12 was renamed Beijing Higher Normal School, and 1923 was renamed National Beijing Normal University.
