Jiangsu Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Vocational College ranks first, Shandong Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Vocational College ranks second, Jinhua Vocational and Technical College ranks third, followed by Beijing Agricultural Vocational College, wenzhou vocational college of science, Hebei Tourism Vocational College and Xinjiang Agricultural Vocational and Technical College.
The major of animal science was merged from animal husbandry and veterinary medicine (part), animal bees (part), animal nutrition and feed processing when the Ministry of Education adjusted this major from 65438 to 0998. It is mainly set up by agricultural colleges or comprehensive universities (Zhejiang University, Yangzhou University and Yanbian University) and agricultural colleges or animal husbandry and veterinary colleges (departments) of ethnic colleges (northwest and southwest).
There are 50 colleges and universities (excluding Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan for the time being) offering this major, covering all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), and quite a few colleges and universities can recruit students across provinces and regions.
Veterinary specialty refers to the specialty engaged in animal disease prevention and diagnosis. The main task is to study and implement the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, quarantine and health inspection of livestock and poultry diseases. With the expansion of animal husbandry in China, there are more and more employees in animal husbandry workplaces. Animal husbandry and veterinary specialty, once considered as "unpopular enrollment", has now become a new growth point in the job market, and some higher vocational colleges even have the phenomenon that many enterprises compete to book graduates of animal husbandry and veterinary specialty.
Employment direction of animal medicine specialty
1. Veterinary hospital/clinic: Graduates can engage in clinical work in veterinary hospitals or clinics and provide medical services such as diagnosis, treatment and surgery for animals.
2. Aquaculture: Graduates can serve as veterinary consultants in farms, farms or aquaculture enterprises, providing services such as animal health management, disease prevention and control, and reproductive guidance.
3. Government departments: Graduates can choose to enter relevant government departments, such as agricultural departments, environmental protection departments or animal health supervision institutions, and engage in animal disease control and food safety supervision.
4. Research institutions/universities: Graduates can choose to engage in animal medicine research and conduct research and teaching in animal medicine-related fields in scientific research institutions or universities.
5. Pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies: Graduates can enter pharmaceutical companies or biotechnology enterprises to engage in research and development, production and sales of animal drugs, vaccines or other related products.
6. Animal protection organizations/non-profit organizations: Graduates can join animal protection organizations and engage in animal welfare, rescue and advocacy.
