Conditions for running the University of the West of Scotland
On August 1 2007, university of paisley and Bell College merged to form the largest modern university in Scotland-the University of the West of Scotland, with campuses in Ireland, Hamilton, dumfries and West Scotland. Today, the University of the West of Scotland enjoys an enviable reputation for innovation and academic achievements. At the same time, the University of the West of Scotland also provides a base for higher education in western Scotland through its four campuses.

At present, there are 2,000 faculty members in the university, who are distributed in more than 100 disciplines, and guide more than18,000 students to acquire academic qualifications, technical skills and improve their personal quality, which are all necessary factors to enhance their competitiveness in the job market and choose a career.

The University of the West of Scotland consists of seven colleges, namely, business school, computer school, education school, engineering and science school, health care, nursing and midwifery school, media, language and music school and social science school. Each college offers a series of specialized courses. Many courses can provide students with one-year paid internship to strengthen the practicality and career orientation of the courses.
