Building 12, formerly known as National Sun Yat-sen University Law School, is located in Mengzhuling, North Campus of South China University of Technology, on the left side of the campus axis at the northern end of Xishan East Road, forming a symmetrical layout with Building 5, and is now used by the School of Business Administration of South China University of Technology. The building was designed by Ke, a famous architect and architectural educator in modern Lingnan, and undertaken by Guangzhou Hetai Construction Company. It started in June 1934 and was completed in October/kloc-0 the following year, with a total construction area of 3,554.5 square meters, an investment of about 275,000 yuan and donations from overseas Chinese.
The building is a Chinese-style building with a three-story frame structure. Green glazed tiles are double-layered and condense into a cornice roof. The lifelike roof decoration on the roof ridge looks beautiful and elegant, and the eaves are decorated with exquisite stone-washed rice color paintings, which fully shows the magical charm of ancient architecture. The red brick wall on the front is embedded with 10 thick eaves column, which goes straight to the second floor, stable and solid. The words "Law School" at the main entrance and "Overseas comrades and overseas Chinese, donations to commemorate" on the cornerstone of the building were written by Zou Lu, then president. The whole building is hidden in the jungle of green trees, giving people an ancient and elegant feeling. In 2002, on the eve of the 50th anniversary of South China University of Technology, the faculty, students and alumni of the School of Business Administration donated 8 million yuan to decorate the 12 building, which made the whole building not only exude a strong classical charm, but also add a little modern flavor.
In July 2002, the building 12 was included in the sixth batch of cultural relics protection units in Guangzhou. In June 2003165438+1October, the building was selected as one of the "Top Ten Campus Scenery" of South China University of Technology in the name of "Fengshan Yazhu".
Building 8, building 9
Building 8, North Campus of South China University of Technology, located on the west side of the northern end of Emei Mountain Road, was originally the mechanical and electrical engineering classroom of National Sun Yat-sen University, and now it is the teaching building of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering of South China University of Technology, with a construction area of 25 12.3 square meters and an investment of about 373,000 yuan.
Building 9 is located on the east side of the middle section of Huangshan Road. It used to be the civil engineering classroom of National Sun Yat-sen University, and now it is the building of Electric Power College of South China University of Technology, with a construction area of about 2,294.4 square meters and an investment of about 34 1 1,000 yuan. The two floors are located in the north and west of Shaw Science Museum, Hubin Road, North Campus of South China University of Technology. Both of them were designed by Yang Xizong, a famous modern architect in Lingnan, and undertaken by Guangzhou Hongyi Construction Company. 1933 started in March and was completed in September of the following year.
Both floors are frame structures, with red walls and green tiles, and the two-story inner corridor courtyard is a plane building, which belongs to the inherent architectural style of China and has a spectacular overall shape. In the use of materials and architectural decoration, it not only has the characteristics of ancient palaces in China, but also combines the architectural styles of Europe and America. The wall between the two windows of Building No.9 is decorated with dark red glazed square bricks with traditional auspicious patterns, and the masonry of red bricks enriches the building facade.
Since its opening, Building No.8 has been used by mechanical departments for decades, except for 8 years of anti-Japanese war. Building No.9 was the location of South China Institute of Technology 10 years before it was founded in June, 952. 1934 at the beginning of the school year of Shipai Campus of National Sun Yat-sen University, its law school was under the eaves of Building 9 with the Institute of Technology, and then moved out.
In July, 2002, both two floors were included in the sixth batch of cultural relics protection units in Guangzhou.
Building 7.
Building 7 of Huagong North Campus is located at the northern end of Lushan Road. It was designed by Ke, a famous architect and architectural educator in modern Lingnan, and built by Guangzhou Hetai Construction Company. 1934 started, and the following year 1 1 was completed, with a construction area of 2338. 1 m2 and an investment of about 247,000 yuan. This building used to be the classroom of Chemistry Department of Science College of National Sun Yat-sen University. At about 1936, it was transferred to the school of engineering of our school as a chemical engineering classroom, and now it is the building of the School of Civil and Transportation of South China University of Technology. The building is a frame structure with a height of 2 floors, which belongs to the inherent architectural style of China. The main building in the middle is a single-eaved roof, and both sides are also single-eaved roofs, which are lower than the middle. This roof treatment makes the primary and secondary roofs form an artistic composition. The first floor of the building is based on granite, and the platforms and railings on both sides of the stone steps are engraved with moire and pine crane patterns, which are harmonious in color and simple and solemn. Interior decoration is also very particular, teak doors, steel windows, and indoor floors are red terrazzo meters.

Building 5
Building 5 of North Campus of South China University of Technology is located in Hengshan, north of Taishan Road, and on the right side of the campus axis. Formerly the College of Literature of National Sun Yat-sen University. It was designed by Zheng Xiao, a famous modern architect in Lingnan, and undertaken by Guangzhou Dalai Construction Company. Construction started in June 1934, and was completed in the following year 10, with a construction area of 3,530.9 square meters. The investment is about 28 1 ten thousand yuan.
Building 5 is a frame structure, and the main building is three stories high and magnificent. Its front porch is two stories high, and its four large shuttle columns have a unique western style; Wings are flat-topped with small protrusions; The main part adopts a big roof. This building embodies the modern style of Lingnan School of Architecture in the early 1930s, and it is also one of the outstanding masterpieces of Chinese and foreign mixed-style architecture. In the past 70 years, it has not attracted any mathematicians to sing and wander.
1938+00 Before the fall of Guangzhou, Building 5 was a gathering place for patriotic students of National Sun Yat-sen University to resist Japan and save the country. During the occupation, it was the headquarters of the enemy's 2 1 Army and the 23 rd Army. 1949 On the eve of Guangzhou's liberation, it is a strategy to improve students' struggle against hunger, civil war and persecution.
After the establishment of South China University of Technology in June, 1952, Building 5 used to be the teaching and research section of foreign languages, physics, electrician and other departments of South China University of Technology. Since 2004, it has been the seat of the School of Politics and Public Administration of South China University of Technology.
