Higher education in Sweden is free, and its education system is divided into three stages. After studying for three years, you can get a bachelor's degree from the first year of college by completing 120 credits (including 60 credits for main courses and 10 credits for thesis); After four years of study, you can get a master's degree from the first year of college when you have completed 160 credits (including 80 credits for main courses and 20 credits for thesis); These two stages are both undergraduate education stages; In Sweden, postgraduate education refers to doctoral education, also known as the third stage education; Doctoral students must complete a certain number of courses and doctoral dissertations. Doctoral education generally lasts for four years, and every doctoral student has a tutor and tutor. Doctoral thesis is the main part of the third stage education. Papers must be publicly defended and divided into two categories: pass and fail. All doctoral students who successfully complete the course and pass the thesis can get a doctorate. There are 16 comprehensive research universities with the right to confer doctorates, such as the Royal Swedish Institute of Technology, Karolinska Medical College, Chalmers Institute of Technology, etc. Some specialties of the four colleges can confer doctorates. At present, domestic students studying in Sweden are mainly divided into two categories. One kind is ordinary or senior visiting scholars sent by the Ministry of Education, universities and some scientific research institutions, that is, students studying at public expense. These people usually study in Swedish universities for one or two years according to bilateral agreements, and then return to China as scheduled. The other is self-funded students who study for a degree. These people generally graduated from domestic universities. After working for several years, I applied for and was admitted to the Swedish University as an "international master's class" student or studied for a doctorate as a graduate student. Because Swedish universities with only a master's degree or above teach in English, they teach in Swedish at the undergraduate level. If they don't know Swedish, they can't go to school. In addition, Sweden has the highest price among EU countries. Therefore, although you don't have to pay tuition fees to study in Switzerland, the living expenses such as accommodation and transportation are higher. According to the budget made by the Swedish Immigration Bureau for foreign students, each person needs to spend about 6,300 Swedish kronor (1 USD) per month, including 2,400 kronor for meals, 2 100 kronor for accommodation, 500 kronor for transportation and 1300 kronor for other expenses. Although China students are not afraid of hardship and can scrimp and save, they spend about 5,000 kroner a month. It costs a lot of money to study like this for a few years.
