According to the Pocket College Entrance Examination, China Ocean University is a key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education, with distinctive features and complete disciplines in marine and aquatic products. It is also a key university under the National "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project". The school has four campuses: Laoshan Campus, Yushan Campus and Fushan Campus, covering an area of more than 2,400 mu. The West Coast Campus covers an area of about 2,800 mu, and the first phase was completed and opened in September 2022. There are 1 department, 20 colleges and 1 basic teaching center. At present, there are more than 34,000 students, including undergraduate students 1.66 million, graduate students 1.39 million, 3,000 doctoral students and 480 foreign students. There are 4,025 faculty members, including 2,096 full-time teachers, 635 doctoral supervisors, 778 senior professional technicians, 0/.003 deputy senior professional technicians, 6 academicians of China Academy of Sciences and 9 academicians of China Academy of Engineering.
