Nanyang Technological University ranks 26th in the world. According to the "QS World University Ranking in 2024" published on the research guide website, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) was founded in 199 1 July, 1, and was originally a teaching university. In 2024, it has transformed into a research-intensive global university, ranking 26th in the world. NTI, the predecessor of Nanyang Technological University, was established on the basis of the former Nanyang University on 198 1 to train applied engineers for the booming Singapore economy. 199 1 year, NTU was formed by the merger of NTI and National Institute of Education. The former Nanyang University alumni roster was transferred to Nanyang Technological University on 1996. Nanyang Technological University achieved autonomy in 2006 and is one of the two major public universities in Singapore.
