Hebei University was founded in 192 1, initially named Tianjin Technology and Business University; 1933 was renamed Tianjin Institute of Technology and Business; 1948 was renamed as Jingu University; 195 1 year, the central people's government accepted Jingu University and changed it into a national university;
1952, the School of Engineering and the School of Finance and Economics of Jingu University were merged into Tianjin University and Nankai University respectively, and on the basis of the Teachers College, Tianjin Teachers College was built on the original site, continuing the history of Hebei University;
1958 was expanded to Tianjin Normal University, and was later identified as one of the five key universities in the province. 1960 was transformed into a comprehensive university and named Hebei university; 1970, the school moved from Tianjin to Baoding, Hebei.
