The Conservatory of Music of Southwest University was developed on the basis of the former Conservatory of Music of Southwest Normal University. Its predecessor can be traced back to 1940, the music department of the former National Women's Teachers College. It is one of the earliest departments in normal universities in China to offer music majors. The college has 77 faculty members, including 28 professors and associate professors. All majors implement the credit system teaching plan and adopt interactive teaching methods to enable students to acquire knowledge and improve their skills to the maximum extent. The college has a team of teachers with reasonable structure and excellent quality.
