Who is the founder of Zhejiang University?
Qi Lin (1839—1900), a Fujian official, was named Chen Di. Tongzhi for three years in Qing Dynasty, Juren (1864), and Jinshi for two years in Guangxu. He participated in the Reform and Reform, angered the Western Empress Dowager, released the magistrate of Quzhou Prefecture in Zhejiang Province, and 1895 was transferred to the magistrate of Hangzhou. Stay in Hangzhou for 5 years.

During his tenure, he founded Qiushi Academy (predecessor of Zhejiang University), Zheng Yang Bookstore (predecessor of Hangzhou No.1 Middle School, Hangzhou No.4 Middle School and Hangzhou Normal University) and Sericulture Science Museum (predecessor of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University). Qi Lin has played an important role in Zhejiang's cultural and educational undertakings and economic development. He died in any office in Hangzhou. His relatives wanted to bury him back in Fujian, but people in Hangzhou tried their best to keep him. First buried in a lonely mountain, then moved to Ma Po Ridge in Jilong Mountain.
