School of Civil Engineering, Central South University is a second-level college of Central South University, and has now developed into a teaching and scientific research entity with strong teachers, outstanding professional characteristics, first-class discipline construction and advanced scientific research level.
The School of Civil Engineering of Central South University was formerly the Department of Railway Architecture and the Department of Bridges and Tunnels of Central South University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, which was established in 1953. The history of civil engineering discipline can be traced back to the Road Department of Hunan Higher Industrial School, which was founded in 1903.
Since the establishment of Changsha Railway Institute 1960, the college (department) has been renamed many times: 1970 Railway Engineering Department, 1984 Civil Engineering Department, 1997 Civil Architecture College. After the establishment of Central South University, relevant departments merged in May 2002 to form the School of Civil Architecture of Central South University. After 20 1 1 year, it was renamed as Civil Engineering College.
The college has 10 teaching units and 5 undergraduate majors. There are 2 national key first-class disciplines and 1 key discipline in Hunan Province 1 discipline. At present, there are 2 postdoctoral research stations, 2 first-class doctoral programs, 2 doctoral programs in two disciplines 12, 2 master programs 14 and 3 professional master programs. At present, there are 288 registered faculty members, including more than 2,800 undergraduates and more than 0.300 postgraduates.
