Xihua university Yibin Campus is the seat of xihua university Yibin Research Institute and graduate department (Yibin Branch) jointly established by xihua university and Yibin Municipal People's Government. The first phase of the campus covers an area of 450 mu, with a building area of1450,000 square meters, a total investment of 139 billion yuan and the value of experimental facilities and equipment of 149 billion yuan. Construction started in February 20 17 and was put into use in September 20 18.

Xihua for short, located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is a key university supported by the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of China. Xihua university was founded in 1960 as Sichuan Agricultural Machinery College, 1972 was renamed as Chengdu Agricultural Machinery College, and 1983 was renamed as Sichuan Institute of Technology. In 2003, Sichuan University of Technology and chengdu normal university merged to form xihua university. In 2008, Sichuan Economic Management Cadre College merged.
