Recently, the reporter visited some universities in Beijing and conducted a survey on the luxury consumption of college students. Among them, some art universities and some junior colleges and higher vocational colleges.
Most college students will consume some luxury goods more or less. These luxury goods include: Chanel, Dior perfume, Lancome cosmetics and CK clothing. These luxury goods are things that college students can't use in their daily life and study. The brand value greatly exceeds the use value, and the price also greatly exceeds their own value.
The following is an interview with a college student in Beijing. (The following "note" represents reporters' questions and "learning" represents college students' answers)
Reporter: What brand of things do you usually like to buy?
Study: Estee Lauder's skin care products, Dior's make-up, Chanel's perfume.
Reporter: Do you like these brands because you think they are easy to use? Or is there another reason?
S: Because it is a world-famous brand, it sounds great! Sometimes people ask, what brand is your perfume? I replied that it was Chanel, and I felt very proud.
Reporter: How often do you buy it?
S: I'll buy it when it's used up. About two months or so.
Reporter: How much does it cost to buy it once?
More than two thousand.
Reporter: Where do you buy this luxury?
S: Shopping centers like Zhong You, Saite and Lufthansa have various brands. Sometimes I buy it from the campus agent of the school.
Reporter: Do you buy things from the school's "flea market"?
Never. That was used by others.
Reporter: Where did the money for these things come from?
My parents gave it to me.
Reporter: Don't you work during the break?
Basically not.
The above interview reflects the reasons why some modern college students buy luxury goods and the economic sources they use to buy these luxury goods. From this college student's answer, it is obvious that a large part of the reason why college students consume these luxuries is vanity. The reason for this vanity is the wind of comparison among school students.
In contrast, the students of Beijing Normal University who have a history of 105 have different views on luxury consumption.
Few students in Beijing Normal University buy luxury goods, and even campus agents of some well-known brands are rare in Beijing Normal University. There is no campus agent for luxury goods at all. So, the reporter immediately interviewed a classmate on the campus of Beijing Normal University. (The following "note" represents the reporter's question, and "learning" represents the Beijing Normal University students' answer)
Reporter: Do you usually like to buy some luxury goods?
S: Never buy it.
Reporter: Why?
Luxury goods are expensive, and you don't need them for study and life.
Reporter: Where do you get your living expenses now?
S: Some of them are scholarships, some of them are given by parents, and some of them are earned by tuition.
Reporter: Sometimes there are some "flea markets" in schools. Do you shop there?
S: I'll buy the right one. I don't care if others use it, as long as it's cheap and good.
Comparing the answers of the two students, it is easy to see the difference in the atmosphere of the students in the two schools. Although whether to buy luxury goods depends on the financial situation of students' families, the influence of school spirit on students can not be ignored. Beijing Normal University, which has a long history, has the motto of "Learn to be a teacher and run the world". Students have always used this motto to remind themselves that the fine tradition of simplicity and pragmatism in Beijing Normal University has also influenced generations of normal college students.
For students themselves, in fact, how do expensive luxury goods cover up their inner emptiness? And self-confidence does not come from the sense of superiority brought by luxury goods, but from the real enrichment of the heart.
