The School of Foreign Languages of Southwest University of Science and Technology has 1 14 faculty members, including 8 professors, 34 associate professors and 13 master tutor. More than 20 of them have studied in the United States, Britain and Canada. More than 10 foreign experts and professors are often hired. The college has two master's programs in English language and literature and translation, and recruits master's students in English and American literature, linguistics, cultural studies, translation theory and practice, and bilingual dictionary research. The college has English Department, Japanese Department, Business English Department and Spanish Department, and enrolls undergraduate students in English, Japanese, Business English and Spanish.
