The National Open University is a new type of institution of higher learning directly under the Ministry of Education. Supported by modern information technology, it pays equal attention to academic education and non-academic education, and implements distance open education. Relying on Radio and TV University and facing all members of society, the school emphasizes the gathering, integration and enjoyment of high-quality educational resources, and explores the deep integration of modern information technology and education with the support of modern information technology. To award a bachelor's degree, the school shall apply to the Beijing Academic Degrees Committee and report to the the State Council Academic Degrees Committee for the record. The name of the former Central Radio and TV University is temporarily retained, and the transition period adopts "the old method for the elderly and the new method for the newcomers". The students of China Central Radio and TV University are still managed according to the original relevant regulations, and the freshmen who enter the study after the listing of the National Open University are implemented according to the new policy.
