Tongji University School of Design and Creativity is developed from the Department of Art and Design, School of Architecture and Urban Planning. In May 2009, Tongji University established the School of Design and Creativity of Tongji University on the basis of the Department of Art and Design of Tongji University, drawing lessons from the latest ideas and models of the world's design and innovation disciplines.

On 20 16, the design discipline of Tongji University entered the construction of Class IV peak discipline, and "Shanghai International Design Innovation Institute of Tongji University" was established. In 20 19, our college ranked "Art and Design" in the world 14 and Asia's first in the ranking of world universities published by British education and study abroad institutions. From 2065438 to September 2007, the design discipline of our college was selected as the world-class discipline construction.
