Hubei University of Technology, referred to as "Gong Hu University" for short, is located in Wuhan, a national central city known as the thoroughfare of nine provinces. The history of the school can be traced back to wuchang city Agricultural School, which was founded in 1952. From 65438 to 0957, Wuchang Agricultural School merged with Wuchang Agricultural Mechanization School, Wuchang Animal Husbandry and Veterinary School and Hubei Agricultural Cadre School to form Hubei Agricultural School.

1958, Hubei Agricultural School was split into Hubei Agricultural Machinery College. 65438-0984, Hubei Institute of Agricultural Machinery and Hubei Institute of Light Industry merged to form Hubei Institute of Technology.
