Xiangtan University, founded in 1958, is a comprehensive national key university founded by the great man Mao Zedong. On September 10 of the same year, Comrade Mao Zedong personally wrote the name of Xiangtan University and kindly entrusted "Xiangtan University must be run well". 1974, Deng Xiaoping, Li Xiannian and other central leading comrades approved the resumption of Xiangtan University. 1978 school was identified by the State Council as one of the national 16 comprehensive key universities in arts and sciences.
2. Hunan University of Science and Technology
On the eve of liberation, Hunan University of Science and Technology was founded in Xiangbei Institute of Architecture. In 2003, it was formed by the merger of Xiangtan Institute of Technology and Xiangtan Teachers College. It is a university jointly established by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, a university jointly established by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and the former state administration of work safety, a key university supported by the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" of 100 central and western universities, and a "domestic first-class university" in Hunan Province.
3. Hunan Institute of Science and Technology
Hunan Institute of Science and Technology is located in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, the hometown of the great man Mao Zedong. It is an undergraduate college organized by Hunan Provincial People's Government. The school is a pilot university for postgraduate education in the "Training Project for Talents with Special Needs in Serving the Country" of the Ministry of Education, and the "Education and Training Plan for Excellent Engineers" and "New Engineering Research and Practice Project" of the Ministry of Education are the first universities to implement.
4. Hunan Urban Construction Vocational and Technical College
Hunan Urban Construction Vocational and Technical College, formerly known as Hunan Civil Architecture School, was established in 1958. 1972 was renamed Hunan Architecture School. In 2003, with the approval of Hunan Provincial People's Government, Hunan Architectural School and Hunan Building Materials Industry School merged to form Hunan Urban Construction Vocational and Technical College. In 2008, the former Changsha Staff University (Hunan Construction Senior Technical School) was merged into the college.
5. Xiang Xing College of Xiangtan University.
Xiang Xing College of Xiangtan University is an independent college founded by Xiangtan University with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the Hunan Provincial People's Government. The college has 48 undergraduate majors and 8753 students. According to the development trend of science and technology and the needs of social development, the college determines the specialty setting and talent training mode, and focuses on the development of application-oriented majors with employment as the guidance.
