The theme of Inside Out is still growth. This sounds like a bad topic, but this time the difference is that this story helps us to re-understand ourselves, our emotions, how we are held hostage by emotions, why we forget them, and even why you keep rubbing in your mind after listening to a skateboard. ?
This growth process is no longer limited to Riley's overcoming various discomforts to face a new life, nor is it limited to the fact that parents have put their children down and will eventually become independent individuals who leave themselves. ?
This kind of growth is a brand-new understanding of yourself after this story. ?
First, accept every emotion. ?
We are always eager for happiness to resist sadness, praise optimism and laugh at negativity. Social culture encourages us to be a lively, outgoing, positive and sunny person. However, not everyone was founded in the center of the town with joy and overcome all difficulties with a confident smile of "I can handle it". ?
More often, it is the "negative emotions" in life that give us strength: sadness makes us profound, to learn, to experience and to increase the weight of life; Fear makes us plan ahead and sail carefully for thousands of years; Anger draws a bottom line for us and warns foreign enemies that they are inviolable; Aversion determines character and prevents us from following the crowd and losing ourselves. Happiness does make us live a better life, but many times, blind optimism is useless. It is a flash-in-the-pan meteor that burns across the sky, dazzling, but what will never change is the deep and vast dark sky. ?
Interestingly, in the initial design, the production team asked Joy to fly out of the headquarters to take risks with fear, but later they found that the story could not continue-they wanted Joy to have an epiphany in this experience and do something she would not have done before, but fear could not accomplish this mission. In the process of overturning the story, they found that only sadness can give joy such a lesson. ?
Maybe at first, just like pure joy, we couldn't understand the meaning of sadness and wanted to exclude her. However, losing the ability to be sad does not make life perfect. There will be many difficult times when people grow up, even if they watch funny movies a thousand times. At this time, finding a quiet corner to cry can help you resurrect and fight again. So in the end, we will finally walk the road of happiness and understand that sadness is also a part of life. Many times, sadness leads you to the light. ?
Every emotion will shape us. Only by accepting them can we truly accept ourselves.
