Aalto University was merged from three top universities in their respective fields-Helsinki University of Technology, Helsinki School of Economics and Helsinki University of Art and Design on August 1 2009, with Tuula Teeri as the first president of Aalto University. At present, the School of Economics has three international certifications of business administration education, namely, AMBA(Association of MBAs) issued by Britain, EQUIS (The European Quality Improvement System) in Europe and AACSB in the United States. The School of Economics of Aalto University offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs in a wide range of economic fields, as well as MBA programs in business fields.
