Jinan University is not a 2 1 1 university. At present, the school has 23 colleges, including 3 post-doctoral research stations, 4 first-class doctoral degree authorization points, 18 two disciplines doctoral degree authorization points, 2 1 1 first-class master degree authorization points, 125 two disciplines master degree authorization points and 18 master degree training categories.

The school also has 5 engineering education certification majors, 27 first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites in Shandong Province, 27 brand specialty specialties in Shandong Province, 9 high-level applied specialties (groups) in Shandong Province, and 5 specialties (groups) for connecting old and new kinetic energy conversion specialties with industrial projects in Shandong Province.
