Tongji University was formerly the German Medical College founded by German doctor paulun erich in 1907. The following year, it was renamed Tongji Devon yiguang; 19 12 merged with the newly established Tongji German Engineering School and changed its name to Tongji German Medical Engineering School; Tongji University was officially named1923; 1927 National Tongji University, one of the seven earliest national universities in China.
