On April 17, the Henan Provincial Department of Education issued the Reply on Agreeing to Establish Puyang Institute of Technology of Henan University.
On the morning of May 19, the unveiling ceremony of Puyang Institute of Technology of Henan University was officially held in the square in front of Puyang Vocational and Technical College. Zhao Ruidong, Mayor of Puyang Municipal People's Government and other leaders, faculty and some students of Puyang Vocational and Technical College, members of the board of directors of Puyang Institute of Technology of Henan University, Zhao Guoxiang, executive vice president of Henan University, Liu Zhijun, vice president and heads of relevant functional departments attended the unveiling ceremony, which witnessed the establishment of the first undergraduate college in Puyang history. The ceremony was presided over by Guo Yansong, member of the Standing Committee of Puyang Municipal Committee and Minister of Propaganda.
Puyang Institute of Technology of Henan University is jointly managed by Henan University and Puyang Municipal Government, and the Provincial Department of Education is responsible for guiding the education and teaching work of the college. The college is a second-level college of Henan University, which mainly trains technical and skilled talents at the undergraduate level needed for regional economic and social development. In 20 15, the number of full-time undergraduates in the college is tentatively set at 600, and the annual enrollment plan is arranged by Henan University as a whole. Henan University is responsible for enrollment, student status management and graduation certificate issuance. The talent training plan of the college is jointly formulated by Henan University, Puyang Municipal Government and cooperative enterprises.
In the future, Puyang Vocational and Technical College will be renamed as Puyang Institute of Technology of Henan University, and relying on the superior resources of Heda University, it will gradually develop undergraduate education and run schools independently.
In 20 15 years, two majors were enrolled: chemical engineering and technology, civil engineering, electronic information science and technology, and software engineering.
