Nanchang University is a world-class discipline construction university under the national "double-first-class" plan, the only national "2 1 1 project" key construction university in Jiangxi Province, a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Jiangxi Province, and a high-level university in Jiangxi Province as a whole.
The school is located in Nanchang, the "Hero City", and has five campuses, namely Qianhu, Qingshan Lake, Donghu Lake, Poyang Lake and Fuzhou, among which the main campus of Qianhu covers an area of 4,520 mu, with a school building area of 6,543,800 square meters.
The school started in Jiangxi Public Medical College founded by 192 1 and National Chung Cheng University founded by 1940. From 65438 to 0993, Jiangxi University and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology merged to form Nanchang University, which initiated the reform of the national higher education system. In 2005, Nanchang University merged with Jiangxi Medical College to form the new Nanchang University.
