The International College English Debate Competition, formerly known as the International College English Debate Competition, is one of the highest-level competitions in China. This activity was first held in 1993, once every two years, and has been successfully held for ten times. In 2007, it was renamed the International College English Debate Competition, and it was permanently settled in Qingdao 20 1 1.
This incident was broadcast by CCTV and Singapore's new media, with growing influence and gradually becoming the highest stage for Chinese debate. History:
On a midsummer night in 1988, CCTV broadcast a special program in prime time without any warning. Eight young men and women in formal suits are divided into two groups. They sit and talk about a question called "Is tourism development beneficial to environmental protection?" .
This competition is the first time that the Modern Chinese Debate Competition officially entered Chinese mainland. The two sides are Peking University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Since then, the China debate has been well known by the public, especially college students, and entered a golden age of vigorous development.

During the period of 1990, Nanjing University participated in the 3rd Asian College Students' Chinese Debate Competition on behalf of the mainland, and lost to the Taiwan Province College Students' Debate Team in the final and won the second place.
