Kunming University of Science and Technology, located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, is a university founded by the Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the People's Government of Yunnan Province.
The school has been selected as one of the national "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in the Midwest", the national "Key Discipline Project with Characteristics" and the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" implemented by the Ministry of Education.
Yunnan Normal University, located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, is a provincial key normal university. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Yunnan Province. It has been selected as one of the national key universities in the "Basic Capacity Building Project of Central and Western Universities", universities receiving scholarships from the China government for overseas students in China, the first batch of universities to build demonstration bases for studying in China by the Ministry of Education, and universities implementing the "Excellent Teacher Training Plan".
