Brief introduction of Huaqiao University

Huaqiao University (1960) was founded in Quanzhou, Fujian, a famous hometown of overseas Chinese. Approved by Premier Zhou Enlai personally, it is the first institution of higher learning named "Overseas Chinese" in China. 1in the middle of 983, the central government designated Huaqiao University as a "national key university".

1997, the former Jimei Overseas Chinese Tutorial School located in Jimei School Village, Xiamen, Fujian Province was merged into Huaqiao University and renamed as the Chinese College of Huaqiao University. In 2003, the school was rated as excellent in the first batch of undergraduate teaching level evaluation by the Ministry of Education. In 2006, Xiamen Campus officially opened. On 20 17, the school was selected as a "double-class" construction university in Fujian Province.

Huaqiao University, directly under the leadership of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, is one of the earliest universities in New China to implement the board system, and is also a comprehensive university founded by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council in cooperation with Fujian, Quanzhou and Xiamen.

As of May 20 18, Huaqiao University has 28 teaching colleges and 94 undergraduate majors, of which 10 has passed the engineering education certification. At present, the school has formed a pattern of one school and two places, with a total area of 2.559 million square meters and a building area of114000 square meters. The school has more than 4.676 million books and materials.

Huaqiao University is a famous institution of higher learning in China, which was founded in 1960. The school is divided into three campuses: Quanzhou Campus: Quanzhou Campus is located in Fengze District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, focusing on social sciences, supplemented by science and engineering.

Xiamen Campus: Located in jimei district, Xiamen City, Fujian Province, it focuses on science and engineering, with equal emphasis on liberal arts and social sciences. Chinese Language Institute: Located in Jimei School Village, jimei district, Xiamen City, Fujian Province, it has Chinese as a foreign language major and preparatory classes.

Huaqiao University currently has 5,437 doctoral and master students, 24 full-time undergraduates, 24 full-time junior college students, and other adult students, including 444 overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students from more than 50 countries and regions.
