Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University was established on the basis of Fujian Christian University Agricultural Science and Fujian Agricultural College 1936. 1952 The former Agricultural College of Xiamen University and the Agricultural College of Fuzhou University merged to form Fujian Agricultural College. From June 5438 to October 2000 10, the former Fujian Agricultural University merged with the former Fujian Forestry College to form a new Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University.

The school has two campuses, Shang Jie Campus and Taijiang Campus, covering an area of about 1.500 mu, with a school building area of more than 420,000 square meters. The main campus is located in Shang Jie Campus of Fuzhou University New District.
