School of Software of Zhengzhou University is the only national first batch of 35 demonstrative software technology colleges in Henan Province, and it is one of 43 colleges (departments) of Zhengzhou University. Located in the north campus of Zhengzhou University (formerly Zhengzhou University of Technology), it covers an area of 559 mu with a construction area of 343,700 square meters, with convenient transportation and beautiful environment. With the goal of training software "Silver Collar", the College adopts the three-module structure training mode of "foundation+direction (including professional certification)+quality", and strives to train outstanding IT professionals with "high comprehensive quality, strong professional ability, quick application, excellent teamwork" and "zero adaptation period". In 2004, the college opened five majors with nearly 800 students, and has invested more than 3 million yuan to build nine public basic laboratories. In 2005, six majors will be set up, including software technology, computer network technology, computer multimedia technology, computer application technology, computer information management and computerized accounting, and it is planned to enroll 1 100 students. Computer Science and Technology (Software Engineering) is an undergraduate major, and plans to enroll 180 students. In 2005, it is planned to invest more than RMB 10 million to build 5 professional laboratories, 10 on-campus bases and 20 off-campus bases. In 2006, IT will form the largest, most professional and standardized IT talent training base in the province.
