Dalian Ocean University is the only multi-disciplinary institution of higher learning in the north of China, featuring marine fisheries, with the coordinated development of agriculture, engineering, science, management, literature, law, economics, art and other disciplines.

The school was founded in 1952, formerly known as Northeast Fisheries Technical School. 1958 was upgraded to Dalian Fisheries College, and 1978 was upgraded to Dalian Fisheries College. In 2000, it was placed under the management of Liaoning Province by the Ministry of Agriculture. 20 10 was renamed Dalian Ocean University with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

The school's discipline system is perfect, and its advantages and characteristics are obvious. The first-class discipline of aquatic products is a "double-first-class" construction discipline in Liaoning Province, which tied for the fourth place in the fourth round of discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education.
