When China University of Science and Technology 1958 was founded, it set up a computer major, which was taught by Mr. Xia, a computer scientist of the older generation. At the beginning of its establishment, China's 1 general computer-107 computer was independently designed and developed in cooperation with the Institute of Computing, China Academy of Sciences.
1960 was installed in the university of science and technology of China, and 1975 successfully developed the minicomputer KD-3. 10 series of functional distributed array processor system GF 10 was developed jointly with the Institute of Computing, China Academy of Sciences in 1983.
Microcomputer KD-4 and KD-5 were successfully developed in 1983, and were transferred to Hubei Radio No.2 Factory for production the following year. 1982 set up the department of computer science and technology, and jointly trained the first batch of doctors in China with the Institute of Computing Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences. 1990, obtained a doctorate in computer software; 1995, China 1 National High Performance Computing Center was established.
In 2000, it was granted the right to award the first-class doctoral degree in computer science and technology, and established a postdoctoral mobile station, which is the key training base for doctoral students in Chinese Academy of Sciences; In 2007, the major of computer software and theory in our department was awarded as a national key discipline by the Ministry of Education.
In March 2009, the College of Computer Science and Technology was formally established. Based on the principle of "running the whole school and merging departments", our institute merged with Institute of Computing, Institute of Software and Shenyang Institute of Automation of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The first-class discipline of computer science and technology of the Chinese University of Science and Technology has the right to confer master's and doctor's degrees and a postdoctoral mobile station, and this discipline has the autonomy to add two disciplines. At present, the four two disciplines under the jurisdiction of this discipline, including computer software and theory, computer system structure, computer application technology and information security, all have the right to grant master's and doctoral degrees.
At present, the College of Computer Science and Technology has more than 90 faculty members, forming an academic echelon with Academician Chen Guoliang as the core and 65 young and middle-aged academic backbones as the main body, with 23 professors, 27 associate professors and 43 young scholars with doctoral degrees.
