Beijing Jiaotong University is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China. Its historical origin can be traced back to 1896. Its predecessor was the Railway Management Training Institute of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications founded by the Qing government in Beijing on September 1909.
