Wuchang University of Science and Technology, located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, is a full-time undergraduate college with multi-disciplinary development, which is approved by the Ministry of Education, and was selected as "Hubei Province 20 1 1 Plan".

The school started from Hubei Institute of Industry and Trade founded by 1997. During 1999, Hubei Institute of Industry and Trade cooperated with Wuhan University of Science and Technology to establish "Wuhan University of Science and Technology Higher Vocational and Technical College (Industry and Trade Campus)", which mainly implemented higher vocational and technical education.

On March 25, 2002, Wuhan University of Science and Technology cooperated with Hubei Guangxin Science and Technology Education Development Co., Ltd. to pilot the Central South Branch of Wuhan University of Science and Technology, and began enrolling students in 2002. In February 2004, the Ministry of Education issued a document confirming the Central South Campus of Wuhan University of Science and Technology.
