Jiangxi University of Science and Technology is a teaching and research university which focuses on engineering and combines engineering with management, economics, law, literature, art, education and other disciplines. It has the right to accept overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students and overseas students. It is a Baosteel Education Award-winning university with the qualification of recommending excellent undergraduates to study for master's degree without examination. The extended data school was founded in 1958, formerly known as Jiangxi Institute of Metallurgy. 1988 was renamed Southern Institute of Metallurgy, and in 2004 it was renamed Jiangxi University of Science and Technology. The school has been affiliated to the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry and China Nonferrous Metals Industry Corporation. 20 13 became a university jointly established by Jiangxi Provincial People's Government, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Ministry of Education.

As of February, 20021year, the school runs schools in Ganzhou and Nanchang, covering an area of 1900 mu; Department of Materials Metallurgical Chemistry 1, 4 academic departments, Teaching College 17, Research Institute 18, and 73 undergraduate majors. There are 1 national demonstration academician workstations, 2 postdoctoral research stations, 1 postdoctoral research stations, 2 first-class doctoral programs, 22 first-class master programs,1/professional master programs. There are more than 2,000 faculty members (including full-time teachers 1.500 and doctoral teachers 630), 24,000 full-time undergraduates and more than 4,000 graduate students.
