Lijiang College of Guangxi Normal University was founded in May, 20001.It is a full-time application-oriented general undergraduate college (independent college) approved by the Ministry of Education and organized by Guangxi Normal University according to the new mechanism and mode. The school is the executive director of China Independent College Cooperation Association and a member of Guangxi Universities of Applied Sciences (College) Alliance.

The school is located in Guilin, a national historical and cultural city, on the bank of Lijiang River, at the foot of Yanshan Mountain, across the road from Yanshan Campus of Guangxi Normal University. The campus covers an area of nearly 900 mu, with a building area of 2 1.92 million square meters. There are 908,700 books in the library, 95 multimedia classrooms and more than 80 experimental training places (rooms), with total assets exceeding 600 million.

Relying on the advantages of Guangxi Normal University in teaching staff, academic research and teaching management and the support of preferential policies in Guangxi and Guilin, the school has continuously improved its core competitiveness and reputation. In recent five years, it has won 136 scientific research and educational reform projects at all levels, 2 second and 3 third prizes of Guangxi Autonomous Region Teaching Achievement Award, and 3 second and 3 third prizes of Guangxi Social Science Research Outstanding Achievement Award.
