Chang 'an University, located in Xi City, Shaanxi Province, is a university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a national "double-class" construction university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government. It is the national key construction university of "2 1 1 Project" and the national "985 Engineering Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform".

By September, 2022, the school has 24 colleges (departments) and 84 undergraduate majors, covering seven categories: engineering, science, management, economics, philosophy, law and literature. Chang 'an University ranks among the top civil engineering majors in China. After the evaluation of major universities in China, Chang 'an University ranks 10 in civil engineering.
