Yangtze University was formed on April 6th, 2003 by the merger of Jianghan Petroleum College, Hubei Agricultural College, Jingzhou Normal College and Hubei Medical College of Health Workers. It is a university jointly established by Hubei Provincial People's Government, China Petroleum and Natural Gas Corporation, China Petrochemical Corporation, China Offshore Oil Corporation, Hubei Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Agriculture.
