Weeds are not deep at all, and flowers and leaves are not beautiful. Then they absorb dew, water, blood and the flesh of the dead, and each takes its own survival. When you are alive, you will still be trampled and cut until you die and rot.
-"Weeds"
I have always liked Weeds written by Lu Xun, because I think these contents reveal human nature and reflect the darkness and nothingness of that era.
We are already familiar with Mr. Lu Xun's article. From the beginning of "From Herbal Garden to Three Ponds for the Moon" to "Social Drama" and finally to "Mr. Fujino". There are articles by Mr. Lu Xun in our textbooks almost every year. I believe these articles appear in our textbooks for a reason. Perhaps Mr. Lu Xun's articles always have their unique cultural charm and artistic characteristics. Lu Xun's articles always contain strong thoughts and feelings. I don't know what it takes to write such thought-provoking and profound words. Perhaps it is an indictment of the injustice of that era, or it may be the helplessness of the dark society at that time. I think Mr. Lu Xun must have been full of strong passion when he wrote Weeds.
Weeds, written from 1924 to 1926, is a collection of prose poems. From the birth of Weeds to the end of 1970s, it was almost unanimously regarded as a very difficult work in the history of modern literature, except for its profound content and a large number of symbolic meanings.
The article Weeds contains Mr. Lu Xun's enthusiastic call for revolutionary forces, deep sympathy for the working people, helplessness and self-analysis of the dark society at that time. It also includes various strong ideological struggles such as life and death, love and hate, dreams and waking, past and future, darkness and light.
At the same time, the language art in Weeds is also used very well. Mr. Lu Xun can vividly express the complex characters in his works with vivid language, which is a very rare description realm. And Mr. Lu Xun is also good at choosing vivid words and writing beautiful artistic conception. For example, in La Ye, "pieces of black lace with holes in the sky stare at people like bright eyes in mottled red, yellow and green", and the language in Mr. Lu Xun's articles is always so vivid. In addition to the above language description, it also includes the rhythm of syllables. For example, in the article Snow, "Yes, it is lonely snow, dead rain and the soul of rain." Sun Zeng, director of the Chinese Department of Peking University, once said: Weeds, like narrative works such as Scream and Hesitation, are profound, mysterious and eternal, and it has an artistic beauty that is hard to crack and always makes people think deeply.
I have read the book Weeds written by Mr. Lu Xun for more than three times. Every time I read it, there will be a shock from my soul. After reading it, I have a new understanding of life and a new feeling. I am immersed in it.
