Unrestricted capture, mild intervention and the reduction of native forests have all destroyed the living environment of wild beetles, and the number is decreasing. In order to raise awareness of environmental protection, Shen Zhebin also worked as an instructor in an outdoor summer camp in a middle school in Wenzhou in the past two summers, leading students to get in close contact with insects, hoping to guide them to cherish and care for the natural environment.
Sumatra Giant Flat Shovel, Unicorn Genie, Confucius Saw Shovel, Australian Rainbow Shovel and Yumi Adachi Shovel are packed in transparent plastic boxes with air holes. Some beetles of all kinds and shapes are waving big horns vigorously, some are munching food, and some shells become colorful in the sun. Tourists of all ages are attracted by these beetles, or stop to watch or have a close contact with them.
At the exhibition site, Shen Zhebin shared his breeding experience from time to time for visitors to learn about popular science beetles. Talking about the beetle exhibition these days, he said, "Some people will be surprised at first, but 90% of the audience did not show fear, mainly because children were interested, especially some little girls dared to interact with bugs and like natural things."
Shen Zhebin, who was in his early twenties, became attached to the Beatles for nearly 10 years. In his hometown of Shaoxing, he deliberately set aside a room as a breeding room for beetles. At present, he has raised more than 0/000 live beetles/kloc-,mainly larvae, including beetles, spades and scarabs. In addition, there are hundreds of thousands of insect specimens, including butterflies and mantis.
On a global scale, many countries have formed unique insect cultures. For example, the Science Museum in Prague, Czech Republic holds an insect exhibition every year; Japanese beetle culture is also very developed. There are more than 5,000 beetle shops here, and the "Beetle Festival" is held every year.
Beetles are mainly found in the rainforests of Southeast Asia and South America. Due to the serious damage to the wild ecological environment in recent years, the number of wild insects is decreasing. Shen Zhebin said that there are very few species of protected beetles in China at present, and insect collection will not have much impact on the ecology for the time being. However, if this continues, there will be no norms to control the fishing quantity, and the future will be worrying.
