Tsinghua's school motto "Strive for Self-improvement, be virtuous and carry things" comes from a speech entitled "Gentleman" made by Liang Qichao in Tsinghua University in the winter of 19 14.
191410/in June, Liang Qichao gave a speech in Tsinghua, and inspired students with two images in Zhouyi, namely, "Heaven is strong, gentlemen strive for self-improvement" (dry divination) and "The rich in the earth, gentlemen carry things with great virtue" (Kun divination).
At the same time, a gentleman should be as thick as the earth, be lenient with others, be strict with himself and treat others lightly, absorb new civilization with a broad mind, improve our society, promote our politics, and shoulder the historical responsibility with a generous morality. Later, Tsinghua University's motto was "Strive for Self-improvement, Be Virtuous and Carry Things".
