Brief introduction of mathematics department
Mathematics Department is one of the earliest departments opened after the reconstruction of Anhui University in 1958. At first, it was designated as the department of mathematics, with two majors: mathematics and mechanics. Since the founding of the school, leaders of the Party and the state, Dong and others have visited the school and taken photos with some teachers and students.
The department of mathematics has three undergraduate majors: mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics and probability, three majors: computing technology and statistical software, accounting electrification and economic mathematics, and three master majors: basic mathematics, statistical probability and applied mathematics. Among them, probability theory and mathematical statistics and basic mathematics (* * *) are provincial key disciplines. The department consists of 6 teaching and research sections and 1 research institute, namely: differential equation teaching and research section, probability theory and mathematical statistics teaching and research section, computational mathematics teaching and research section, economic mathematics teaching and research section, geometric algebra teaching and research section and mathematics research institute. There are more than 80 faculty members, including professors 13, associate professors (28), doctors 15, in-service doctoral students (6) and overseas students (20). Nine teachers received special state allowances. The Department of Mathematics has won many outstanding teaching achievement awards and advanced collectives. The Department of Mathematics has a computer room, a reference room and a language laboratory. There are 6 100 Chinese periodicals, more than 2,500 foreign periodicals, 4,200 Chinese and foreign periodicals (bound volumes), more than 80 microcomputers, 3 photocopiers and 3 laser printers.
research results
Our department has made important research achievements in differential equations, harmonic analysis, matrix analysis, ring and algebraic representation theory, wavelet analysis, semigroup theory, statistical inference, probability limit theory, application of mathematics in geophysics, economic statistics and so on. , and has a certain influence in the field of mathematics at home and abroad. Up to now, 1978 has published 12 books and 650 papers, of which more than 250 have been published in important journals at home and abroad, and 84 have been included by SCI and EI.
Teachers in our department have successively undertaken the National Natural Science Foundation Project 14, the National Earthquake Fund Project 2, the State Education Commission Project 2 and a large number of provincial and ministerial projects, including 2 major national projects and 2 key national natural science foundation projects. In addition, the department of mathematics has had close cooperation with many scientific research units and universities at home and abroad for many years.
Our department cooperated with the Department of Mathematics of China University of Science and Technology, or cooperated with Anhui Science and Technology Commission, and was entrusted by Chinese Mathematical Society, China Probability and Statistics Society and China Logistics Society to host many national conferences on functional differential equations, complex function theory, probability and statistics, operational research and other disciplines, which made positive contributions to the development of various disciplines.
Our department won the second prize of excellent teaching achievements in Anhui universities 1989 and the collective prize of advanced teaching in Anhui universities 1994. Institute of Mathematics won 1996 Advanced Collective Award for Scientific Research in Anhui Universities.
