Ningbo University is located in the historical and cultural city of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, adjacent to the East China Sea. The school has five campuses, covering an area of 160 hectares, with a total construction area of 560,000 square meters. The main campus is adjacent to Ningzhen Road in the north and Yongjiang River in the south. It has magnificent buildings and pleasant lawns and green spaces, which provide a broad space for study and research.
Ningbo University consists of 19 colleges, offering 65 bachelor's degree courses and 56 master's degree courses. There are 23,000 full-time undergraduates, including 700 graduate students and 2,400 faculty members, including 0/0.3 million teachers, 6 academicians, 65,438 full professors and 5,865,438 associate professors.
Its characteristic is that it emphasizes the development of disciplines, forming 13 provincial key disciplines and 1 1 municipal key disciplines. At present, there are 2 provincial key laboratories, 12 municipal key laboratories and 77 research institutes.

Ningbo University was founded on 1986, with the donation of Bao Yugang. At the beginning of the school, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, China University of Science and Technology, Peking University and the former Hangzhou University built it. 1996, the former Ningbo University, Ningbo Normal University and Ningbo Branch of Zhejiang Fisheries College merged to form a new Ningbo University.
