Hubei University of Technology, referred to as "Gong Hu University", is located in Wuhan, Hubei Province. It is a multidisciplinary university featuring engineering, covering eight disciplines including engineering, arts, science, art, economy, management, law and education.

It is a key construction university in Hubei Province, a leading university in "Hubei 20 1 1 Plan", a domestic first-class discipline construction university in Hubei Province, a national graduate employment typical experience university, a national innovation and entrepreneurship typical experience university, the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and a demonstration base for college students' entrepreneurship in Hubei Province.

The school was founded in 1952, which was formed by the merger of 1984, the former Hubei Institute of Light Industry and the former Hubei Institute of Agricultural Machinery. 1986 awarded the master's degree and qualified for research.
