According to the 20 14 UK government's research excellence framework (REF) assessment, Manchester Business School ranks second in the UK in terms of "research power" in business and management.

In 20 14 and 20 15, the Financial Times ranked its doctoral program as the third in the world. In the ranking of Bloomberg Businessweek Business School, Manchester Business School ranked 19 globally. In the Financial Times MBA ranking of global business schools in 2020, Manchester Business School ranked 5th in the UK and 45th in the world.

The Alliance Manchester Business School, a secondary college alliance affiliated to the University of Manchester, is one of the two earliest business schools established in Britain (the other is London Business School), which has trained a large number of outstanding business and financial leaders and talents. After 50 years of development, Manchester Business School has become the top business school in the world and one of the top ten business schools in Britain, and is known as "South London and North Manchester City".

Manchester Business School enjoys a world-renowned reputation and has been accredited by EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA, the three top business school academic accreditation bodies in Britain, Europe and the United States. The Accounting and Finance Department of Manchester Business School is one of only two six-star accounting and finance departments in Britain.

In 2023, QS World University ranked Master of Business and Master of Supply Chain Management in UK 1, ranking sixth in the world. Master of Business Analysis ranked second in the UK, global16; Master of Marketing ranked 3rd in UK, global12; Master of management ranks 5 th in Britain and 28 th in the world; Master of Finance ranked 7th in the UK and 27th in the world.
